About Annie Harms

Searching For a New Career

In 1996 Annie was looking for a change. She was a special needs teaching looking for a way to have more freedom and to spend time with her three young children. An avid animal lover she started looking for options. Pet sitting was just getting started in her area at that time and Annie's happy to say she was one of the first pet sitters in the Tampa Bay area! Now many years later, Annie has built a loyal and enthusiastic following and a great team of sitters. 

Happily married for over 40 years to Tom with three grown children. Two of which are officers in the United States Coast Guard and our youngest Florida child runs a salmon hatchery in Juneau Alaska! Proud grandparent to a grandson, three grand dogs, and two grand cats. 

Turning Her Passion Into a Business

Pet sitting seemed like a perfect fit. After all, Annie was passionate about caring for creatures, both great and small. She established Annie the Animal Nanny, Inc. in 1996, and today, her business has a loyal and enthusiastic following in South Pinellas County.
